After a long summer of new signings, the start of the Women's Super League season last weekend finally gave us the chance to see some of the fresh talent on display.
Unless you were willing to take a risk on players who had moved to the league or joined new clubs in Gameweek 1 (a risk that paid off for some managers, we should add), you probably don't have much new talent in your team. But after this weekend's performances, it's clear that the WSL's new signings are going to make their mark this season.
Here are just four of the new signings that stood out last week. The question is: will you add them to your team? You've got until the Gameweek 2 deadline to make your mind up.
1. Kiko Seike - Brighton
We were going to save the best 'til last, but we couldn't wait. Kiko Seike made history this weekend by becoming the first player to score a hatrick on their WSL debut. Not only that, but she racked up an impressive 17 points in Fantasy WSL too. If you were one of the less than 2% of managers who had her in your squad last week, you're laughing.
However, now could be just as good a time to bring Seike into your team. Did we hear somebody say Visionary Points? Brighton have a couple of tricky fixtures coming up, but if you play your cards right, Seike is looking like a safe bet this season.
2. Hayley Raso - Tottenham
Tottenham racked up four goals against WSL newbies Crystal Palace this weekend, and Hayley Raso was involved in much of the action. She scored a goal in this weekend's fixture, contributing to her total of nine Fantasy WSL points. And with the likes of Real Madrid, Man City, and the Matildas on her CV, we can safely say her performance was not a fluke. She could certainly be a reliable pick for your squad.
3. Shae Yañez - Crystal Palace
Hayley Raso may have got one past Shae Yañez, but that doesn't distract from her incredible performance against Tottenham last weekend. Tottenham had 17 shots on target (so the scoreline could have been a lot higher) but Yañez saved 12 of them. Although Crystal Palace may have a tough time fighting for their place in the WSL this season, Yañez is a great talent not to be overlooked.
4. Vivianne Miedema - Manchester City
Ok, this is kind of cheating. But while Vivianne Miedema might not be new to the WSL, she is new to Manchester City and the prospect of playing against Arsenal. Despite being dealt a tough first WSL fixture for the club at her old stomping ground The Emirates, Viv still managed to find the back of the net and make many positive contributions to the match.
City manager Gareth Taylor described the fixture as "uncomfortable" for Miedema, which leaves us thinking: how many fantasy points does a comfortable Viv have in her?
